Coatesville Settlers Hall 1926

Coatesville is a small, rural community situated approximately 20kms North of Auckland City.

The area was called Fernielea until 1926, when it was renamed after Gordon ‘Coates’, the Prime Minister at the time. Prominent Coatesville is set in stunning countryside boasting some of the most exquisite houses, properties and manicured landscapes in Auckland. Several of these gardens are open to the public for viewing; some are endorsed, award-winning ‘Gardens of National Significance’.

The local village facilities include the Fernilea Cafe, Country Elegance Flowers & Gift Store, Windmill Orchards, Coatesville Dairy, Coatesville Motors and a Barfoot & Thompson Agency! Coatesville Pony Club is very popular as is equestrian activity in and around the community. There are two early childhood learning centres and Coatesville School, a coeducational primary school (years 1-6) with a decile rating of 10.

The Coatesville Settlers Hall is used for community events and is a popular wedding venue that opens out onto the manicured fields of the Coatesville Reserve. It is also host to the monthly ‘Coatesville Market’, one of Auckland’s finest.  It has over 100 stalls selling local crafts, fresh produce, olive oils, great food and handmade clothes, all New Zealand made.  With the smell of divine food & live music floating through the air, the atmosphere is fantastic!

The Coatesville Reserve is a popular place for locals to gather, especially on market days.
